I recently made my first Sabway build (identical build posted on PVX). My question is the character i am using with the build is a healer. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a healer build that works well with Sabway. Right now i am using my healing build, but i am noticing the hero's seem to be able to heal themselves well enough. Should i go smite? Perhapes a secondary of mesmer for intterupt? Any advice or help would be appreciated.
Please don't tell me to google it, i have done so. I often find the advice i receive from forums such as this is more useful.
Oh wasnt sure if i was clear or not. The sabway build is on my 3 necro hero's.

When I ran sabway (I don't anymore), I'd run prot, actually.

What would you prefer to run with? Is there some aspect of monking that you haven't experimented with yet? Sabway runs pretty well on its own and now is your chance to play around with your character and do some things a player party might not appreciate.

I hate to say it but I think you should go Smite, deal some extra damage as Sabway takes care of all healing like GirlUWant said.

try Doscordway instead...
I used Sabway with my monk but tried Discordway and never looked back. For Discordway I use:
- Assassin's Promise
- You Move Like A Dwarf
- Sniper Support
- Finish Him
as the basic 4 skills and then either Smiting:
- Bane Signet
- Castigation Signet
- Signet of Rage
- Rebirth
Or Protection:
- Aegis
- Prot Spirit
- Spirit Bond
- Rebirth
If you go smiting, the signets work nicely since you sometimes run low on energy, even withthe AP energy gain
Try Discordway - you will love it! You can find it on PVXWiki as well.

I would suggest smiting before healing and protting if you can help it. You will be able to call targets to focus H/H fire, plus with the multitude of PvE skills to boost damage, even some weaker smites can be buffed up to do some noteworthy damage and help pick up the slack since most of the SABway's damage is not completely direct.
However, if smiting is not an avenue as of yet, just play the standard HB Heal Party or WoH build. Not a lot of monk skills synergize well with necromancers as their bars are all pretty sufficient on their own. This way you can get good practice with bars you will be expected to play later on in elite missions.

The "Sab-way" three-necro team is, essentially, just an autopilot. You don't really need anything to complement it. As was suggested above, you should consider using discord heroes while using the assassin's promise build.

I would go smiting if I were you and let the heros do the healing and protting.

Might want an extra hex too, for a cover after AP where mobs have hex removal and before AP for tough kills (to allow for proper AP timing but get Discord-spike started right away). Enduring Toxin works well, as suggested on PvX.

Thanks for all the advice, most of it was very very useful. I put together a discordway build and WOW!!! love it. Thanks again
Oh, GirlUWant. I did my share of experimenting, but when i got to trying to take on some of the bosses late in EoTN i started running into problems. Sabway is nice... if your hero's are alive.

With sabway, you should smite--no questions asked. Just make sure you bring a healer henchman or a human healer, and a fighter for barbs/splinter weapon. With the recent nerf to Cry of Pain, there might be better builds, but this is what I had been using successfully as a Mo/Me smiter w/ sabway:
OwUTMMHDXaJwnhF0GMVU0xlg6DA
[Arcane Echo] [Ray Of Judgement] [Ether Nightmare] [Cry of Pain] [By Ural's Hammer!] [Auspicious Incantation] [Smite Hex] [Smite Condition]
Lot's of degen, AoE, enough energy management for a good sized encounter, and you can help with hexes and conditions if the enemy doesn't group up enough for a full bar run.
I recently switched to Discordway, and with that, I use (Mo/Me):
OwUTEQHDVaJwnxA0GMGIV0lg6DA
[Arcane Echo] [RoJ] [Shrinking Armor] [Cry of Pain] [Mind Wrack] [By Ural's Hammer] [Smite Hex] [Smite Condition]
With this build, your main job is to keep enemies hexed and conditioned.. [shrinking armor] is a hex+condition with low energy and cast time (lasts 10 seconds), then mind wrack covers, and extends the hex for shrinking armor's 13 second "end effect" condition.. that way, your target is effectively hexed+conditioned (-3 hp degen for shrinking armor, -5hp for cry of pain) for about 25 seconds which is more than enough for discord spam to chop them down. Arcane Echo/RoJ/Ural's should be used when there is an opening for an AoE attack (usually 3+ enemies grouped, but if you can spare the energy, go for 2.. use your own judgement). Energy management isn't really needed since most of your spells have a low energy cost and slightly higher recharge times. Use your brain.
For Discordway henchmen, I use:
Protection (discord provides more than enough dmg, so this is to help keep them alive)
Earth (for 50% block ward, invaluable for your backline+damage)
Interrupt (everyone needs it+damage)
Fighter/Guardian (helps to get first few minions+damage)
I haven't come across an area (PvE) that I couldn't handle with this setup. In areas with super high hex and condition removal, you might need to modify your own bar to help death with it.

When I do sabway/discordway, I just run Assassin's Promise or heal/prot if it's a harder area (like torment realm)

i always run sabway in HM, so i usually go heal/prot/hex/cond remover depending on the area.
i hate smiting with a passion so i never run that.
usually me on healer, and my sabway heros (rt/n mm, n/rt SS, n/mo woh hybrid) can handle anything with just damage dealing henchs.
The build i run is my HB build which is pretty standard for most areas, with either ebon battle standard of courage or aegis depending.
but yeah, i guess if you don't get bored shitless easily run smite :P
